What the f****!! These were my exact words when this appeared
in my news feed. i9? Could not believe it all these years we have been praising
and bowing down to the great i7 little did it know that it could be shelved
sooner or later.
Before we even dive into the i9 story line there is still a
new baby in town. AMD is back with the mighty Ryzon 7. This baby is no joke she
harbors the following specs:
·
8 core processor
·
16 threads
·
Turbo max of 4GHZ
·
L3 cache of 16MB
·
2667MHZ of memory speed.
If you planning to buy a desktop definitely consider this
processor. I know AMD have been in the hide out for a while but now we have
seen what has been cooking. In this regard Intel on the other hand is not
accepting any defeat.
Just recently Intel decide to shake the internet by the
release that it’s developing the i9. At first I personally thought it was a
joke but by visiting their website all my fears we confirmed.
Have a look at its specs:
- 10 core
- Turbo max of 4.30GHz
- L3 cache 13.75MB
- 20 threads
As per the specs this is a very powerful piece of metal. Compared
to the ryzon it’s of better specs. Considering its launch is much later it’s obviously
expected.
Question 2 who actually needs these powerful processor? Short
answer me. Anyway these launches come at
a better time as the gaming industry is going a notch higher in terms of requiring
better processing power, graphics and animation ,VR also requires a lot of
power and our friends who mine cryptocurrency need better equipment to carry
out their work.
Back to the cooperate world our average CEO will not require
a machine of such specs basically an i5 still suits the well. I mean they just
send mail and read our PDF reports.
As for the IT department it’s a 50/50 scenario
depending with the environment but it would be safe just to have one at the
corner of the office. (Running torrent ha-ha)
In concussion this is a major step in the tech scene and
will open doors to major advancement in the field e.g. VR and the gaming industry
at large. The unfortunate part is always the pricing apparently it’s estimated
to cost around $2000.
